Burglar jailed for 28 months

A Rochdale burglar has been jailed for 28 months after carrying out six burglaries across the area between December 2021 and January 2022.
Mohammed Rameez, 29, of Rochdale, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court yesterday (Monday 11 April).
Rameez broke into four takeaways and stole money, along with an opticians and a cleaning supplies store on Oldham Road.
Inspector Graham Cooke, from GMP's Rochdale district, said: "We're absolutely committed to investigating burglars and bring them to justice.
"Rameez targeted small, local businesses and his actions would have had a huge impact on them both financially and emotionally.
"I'm glad he's been brought to justice and our team continues to target other suspected burglars every day."
