Fisherfield Childcare raise over £2,000 for RSPCA Rochdale

Date published: 11 February 2022

Fisherfield Childcare nurseries within the Rochdale borough have raised over £2,000 for the Rochdale and District branch of the RSPCA.

Money was raised by children, parents and staff throughout 2021, thanks to events such as a luxury afternoon tea, nursery sports days and raffles, with the company donating a grand total of £2,086.12 in February.

They describe their Christmas hamper as one of ‘their proudest fundraiser events’, as after creating it with the help of children, parents and staff, they visited the local shelter in Rochdale where they got to meet staff and the animals who are homed there.

David Canavan, vice-chair of trustees for the RSPCA's Rochdale branch, said: "We really appreciate the support we get from people in the community and all our donors. The children of Fisherfield are fantastic and love animals, so it's nice that the children recognise the importance of animals and how beneficial they can be.

"We do value their support and I hope they continue to be animal lovers as they grow up."

Fisherfield have been raising money for the local RSPCA branch since 2020 and promise plenty more fundraising events throughout 2022.

In 2020, they raised £1,220 for the branch, which was chosen as a cause after a vote was put to parents and children.
