Ramblers Best Foot Forwards - Walking For Health

Date published: 07 April 2019

This year put your best foot forward to get healthier, get happier, meet people and visit beautiful spaces.

The Ramblers are supporting Rochdale on a new project, Walking For Health, to encourage more people to get outside and discover how walking boosts health and happiness.

Join walks, volunteer in your local area, and get more out of your day, you will meet lovely people, get fitter and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.

The walks will be different lengths and you can choose one that suits you. Find new ways to be part of the community.

The walks will offer everything from a short 10-minute starter walks, to longer routes out onto open access land with the freedom to roam, there will be something for everyone.

The first short walk led by Walking For Health volunteers took place in Falinge Park on Wednesday 20 March.

Longer walks are planned for this summer.

The walks will run for six months and everything will be advertised on Rochdale Ramblers website.

The longer walks commenced on Friday 29 March, and will take place on the last Friday of the month for the duration of the 6-month pilot.

Visit Rochdale Ramblers for all walks and more information:
