Woman cut out of car after Whitworth Road collision

A woman had to be cut out of a car and taken to hospital, following a collision on Whitworth Road on Wednesday (2 May).

At around 1.20pm, a blue Peugeot 108 and a lorry collided outside Tesco Express. The woman was trapped in the car and had to be cut free by the fire service.

She was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital with a back injury, but was conscious and breathing.

The road was closed from Gale Street for a period of time but has since reopened.

Police confirmed all three emergency services were in attendance.
