Local Election 2022

Colette Duszczyk

Colette Duszczyk

Liberal Democrat Party
Norden Ward

Colette Duszczyk is a retired midwife who worked in the NHS for 36 years initially working as an adult intensive care nurse. She has lived in Norden for 27 years with her family enjoying the semi-rural surroundings and walking around the Greenbooth Reservoirs. Having young adults in the family, she is faced with a range of issues, particularly the lack of affordable housing in the area.

Parking problems in Norden:

Parking in the village and particularly near the two local primary schools at the start and end of the school day is a big problem. It is dangerous for the children, creates issues for the local residents and contributes to the general pollution in the village. Liaising with the schools will help implement solutions that will resolve these issues.

Environment and Mental Health:

The general litter and fly tipping around our moorland and in Ashworth Valley needs addressing. These areas are used by walkers, cyclists, horse riders mainly promoting good physical and mental health, particularly during the pandemic. We need to ensure they remain an attractive destination for everyone.

Environment and Safety:

There are many dog owners here in Norden and as more of us have introduced dogs into our families during the pandemic, we need to ensure that we are able to keep our environment clean and safe from dog fouling. There is a need for more dog waste bins both on the streets of the village and the surrounding countryside.
