Local Election 2022

Shah Wazir

Shah Wazir

Labour Party
Healey Ward

Councillor Shah Wazir is delighted to have been re-selected for a third term as a Labour candidate to stand in this upcoming election.

Shah Wazir is a local resident who had lived all of his life in Rochdale and had served as a Councillor for almost 20 years. His knowledge and understanding of local government had been enhanced by serving and holding various cabinet positions and also being the Planning and Township Committee member.

Shah has worked for over 30 years in further education and had taught, supported thousands of students towards their successful careers. He feels strongly that although the Rochdale Sixth Form College is one of the best in the country, we must invest more in technical skills courses and apprenticeships to help the local residents for better and enhanced employment prospects.

This year is an all-out election which means every resident has three votes on one ballot paper to elect three councillors from Healey Ward and the Labour Candidates are Shah Wazir, Shaun O’Neill and Tricia Ayrton.

My priorities for Healey, Syke and Shawclough are:

  • Protecting the green belt and spaces within the ward and planting more trees on Cronkeyshaw and Syke Common.
  • Protecting local employment and the enterprise zone at Fieldhouse Complex.
  • Campaigning for road safety and installing speed control camera in Healey ward.
  • Protecting Syke and Cronkeyshaw Common from off road bikes and dog fouling.

I hold two public surgeries every month that requires no appointment.

Vote Labour Team, vote Shah Wazir. Thank you.
