Its all over for another year!

Well the canvassing is over, the votes are in and all the winners declared. I really cannot remember a more enjoyable campaign, with virtually all householders pleasant, warm and positive in their support. The weather throughout was excellent (apart from election day itself). I still find it surprising that voter turnout is so low, and, like many others wonder if voting will have to be made compulsory. Although completing the census is compulsory yet some people fail to do it. We had a lot of help from young people this year and they seemed to inspire their peers, which bodes well for the future of certainly the Labour party. I think the youngsters got a shock when they saw how much hard work is involved in elections.
Anyway, its congratulations both to members re-elected and welcome to the new members, and its back to normality as soon as possible for all our supporters, friends and family.
Best wishes Carol
