EDL

I think like every right thinking individual that bussing in EDL members to protest in Rochdale, was just a cynical attempt to cause unrest and racial tension in the borough. I was delighted to see that my sunday national newspaper contained no mention of the rally. Todays, merely showed a lovely picture of a newly wed couple, who married at the town hall on saturday with some police officers in the back ground and the text made only passing comment. This is the only way to deal with these people, deny them the oxygen of publicity and they may wither away. The behaviour of Rochdalians was exemplary and shows why we have such a cohesive and inclusive community. Long may it remain so, and well done to all those involved in planning the policing of what turned out to be a bit of a non event. Best wishes to Stacey and Mark Roberts on their marriage, and I hope they have a long and happy life together.
