I want to say well done to our highways team today, they have had a very difficult task of keeping our roads open due to extreme weather conditions.
A lot of people are upset that thier street, estate, etc has not been gritted but difficult choices have had to be made to keep our main roads open in the borough.
I have personally seen the gritters out ALL DAY on Halifax Road but because of the high level of snow some people think it has not been done. I can assure you it has, and I took a photo of Halifax Road at around 1.30 not long after a gritter wagon had passed.
Well done to the team and thank you, your hard work is appreciated.
