Pavement Parking - No Consideration!

One thing that really annoys me is 'pavement parking' - why do people do it when there is room enough for two cars to get through? Have these drivers no consideration for the disabled in wheelchairs or on scooters or mums with prams or toddlers?

A few weeks ago an elderly 83-year-old man in my area broke his arm when he had to try and manoeuvre going into the road to get past a car parked on the pavement, his scooter tipped over into the road as he tried to get down the path. He also injured his ribs and was left shocked, bruised and shaken.
There was no reason why this person had to park on the pavement, as it is a one-way street.

The other week I asked a young lady why she had parked on the pavement as I pointed out that the grid had just been fixed due to a white van driver running onto it and breaking it in two - which cost the council £250 to replace and repair - she shrugged her shoulders, gave me verbal abuse and drove off, and continues to do it!

We ask for dropped kerbs to make life just that bit easier for disabled people to get out and about, as they should be able to, yet how many times do we see cars parked across them?

Why park on the pavement when there is really no need for it?
