January sees the temporary closure of Smallbridge Library and the Housing office on Stevenson Square for 3-4 months whilst it is having a huge long awaited make over!
The staff from the Housing office in the library are tempory being moved to the Bellshill office at Belfield although goodness knows why we could not have found them temporary accomodation in Smallbridge for a short period?
I would like to wish them good luck and to say a huge thank you for the excellent service they provide on Stevenson Square in solving the many problems they deal with face to face and the personal touch they have with the public in this area and hopefully we can work on getting this much valued and needy service back to longer opening days as it was before , as 2 days a week has proved just not enough for the people of Smallbridge.
The two services work really well together in this building as people who would not normally venture into a library look round and see that the service the library provides is offering much more than just taking a book out it provides information and lots more.
Good luck to everyone and we look forward to your return around the end of April beginning of May we are already making plans for a huge party on the Square to welcome the re-opening of the Library and Housing Office, and to see a lovely landmark upgraded from the A58 to welcome people as they pass through the beautiful pennines.
Merry Christmas Everyone
Peace, Health, Love & Happiness to ALL
