Welcome back to the new school term. We are very pleased with all the compliments about the new entrance area, there is still some further work to do but it is almost complete. The area is bright and cheerful whilst also providing additional security for the school. We are going to install a bell for the After School Club too.
This term is already starting to look busy and as soon as dates are fixed a letter will be sent out. The information will also be on the website. We have had some difficulties with the text service holding new numbers so if you did not receive a text last Sunday evening please can you let the school office know and we can check the system.
Well done to the children who were presented with the Achievement Award on the last day of term:
Reception: Milly Eyre
Year 1: Elizabeth Leigh
Year 2: Nathan Ashurst
Year 3: Harison Smith
Year 4: Qasim Mushtaq
Year 5: Leneta Hey and Bethany Richards
Year 6: Cameron Mara
Reception Class managed the best attendance with an excellent 99.8%.
Next week is busy, there is a Ladies Night on Wednesday where the PTA have organised a fashion show, with sales of lovely luxury items to help you glam up for the super summer we are going to have! Come on ladies, share an evening of pampering and luxury. The Rights Respecting Team are running a UNICEF Day for Change which is to raise funds for the UNICEF Sports Programme.
The children are asking you to send in your loose 1p and 2p coins which will be put down to fill a map of Uganda in the Hall; they are also asking children to send in unwanted books and DVDs (in good condition) for a ‘Bring and Buy’ sale on Friday.
The children can come in any combination of yellow, red and black that day to represent the colours of the Ugandan flag. The children have organised this day themselves as part of their bid to become a Rights Respecting School and have worked hard to make it fun. Please support them.
