Everyone has been supporting SPORT RELIEF this week in school. Every child and several members of staff have walked a mile each around the school playground in support of this great cause. On Friday pupils and staff wore their sports gear and donated one pound towards Sports Relief for Water Aid. A huge thank you to our staff who organised this event and to our families who supported it.
Reception Class have been reading the story of Rapunzel and making their own towers. They have also been learning about the Bible story of the Loaves and Fishes.
Year 1 have been adding three numbers together this week! They have also been investigating how to help Rapunzel to escape from her very high tower. They came up with some very creative ideas and spotted the problems as well. Ask your children if they have been successful.
Year 2 have been very busy writing stories this week and getting to be VERY good Story writers. They have all completed their Owl puppets.
Year 3’s Animal Magic topic is very popular and the children really enjoyed the visit from Sweep the Rabbit this week. They have worked really hard on their reading and writing tests, determined to show off their very best.
Year 4 have been investigating which day this week has been the warmest and when we had the most rainfall. They discussed how they could make accurate measurements and have been using some very good science vocabulary.
They have had to do some research to find out how to build the roof onto their class igloo.
Year 5 and 6 have been responsible for the St Joseph’s Penny fundraising this week. They have done this as well as working hard to complete their topic work and do their very best in all their assessments.
Thank you to all our parents and carers who came to the Coffee Afternoon and supported the Bric a Brac sale for St Joseph’s Penny. Everyone enjoyed the Year 1 performance.
