Date published: 05 February 2019

Thornham Cricket Club in Castleton has signed South African players Bradley Carolus and Tian Van Heerden for the 2019 season.

Bradley, 25, is a left-handed top order wicketkeeper batsman, who has represented SW Districts at Under 19 level. In 2014, he also represented Nelson Mandela University (NMU) in the CSA club championship tournament, hitting a high score of 125 against the Durban University.

He plays club cricket for Ramblers Cricket Club in his home city of George.

Tian, 18, is a highly thought of young right-arm opening bowler who has burst onto the Gauteng cricket scene in the last 18 months. The young South African represents Old Parktonian Cricket Club in the Gauteng Premier Competition.

Delighted with the new signings, Thornham chairman Andrew Micklethwaite said: “We are delighted to sign both Bradley and Tian for the new season; thank you to James Cole at Cric X for helping sort the signings.

“Bradley and Tian fit the criteria we were looking for, and we look forward to welcoming them in April.”
