Dean Watson, a Rochdale referee in the National League North, won the Jim Cattlin Memorial cup and he received his award from the Rochdale Referees Association’s President John Culshaw at the end of the last football season.

As the new football season starts Rochdale’s Referees Association offers all referees, and those interested in becoming a referee, referee development and a referee support group mentoring scheme.

Andy White, Chairman/ Secretary, Rochdale Referees Association said: “Rochdale Referees member and Contributory referee Conor Brown will be leading an interactive discussion on the law amendments and laws of the game. All referees will be very welcome.

“Our new look monthly meetings just focus on referee development and we run a referee support group mentoring scheme too. We have members at all ages who officiate on the EFL, National League, Evo Stick league as well as local senior and junior leagues.

“We can also give advice to anyone looking to start refereeing as they need to attend courses run by Lancashire FA or Manchester FA.

“Please contact Chairman/secretary Andy White andy.white21@outlook.com for more information or come along to our meetings.”

Rochdale Referees hold their first meeting of the 2018-19 season on Thursday 16 August at Rochdale Cricket Club starting at 7.30pm.
