Rugby League: Mayfield travel to Cumbria in search of points

Date published: 26 July 2018

Mayfield are on the road on Saturday as they travel to face Cumbrian side Kells.

Kells are one place above Mayfield, two points clear, and a win would be a welcome boost in Mayfield's bid to keep their Premier Division status.

With another away game next week against fellow strugglers Wigan St Pat's and then a home fixture against Kells, this is a make or break period for Mayfield.

Mayfield had a big boost last week against top six club Siddal. With several players missing for last week’s game Mayfield were underdogs, but  pulled out all the stops and turned in their best game of the season to take the points.

Kells have struggled to score points this season.

Mayfield's points scoring has not been as prolific as previous seasons but over the last few weeks things have improved.

Aidan Gleeson has made a good recovery from a hand injury and is back in contention for a place.
