Brad Wade signs first professional contract

Brad Wade has signed his first professional contract with Rochdale AFC.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year deal, with the option of a further year.

The goalkeeper has been with the club since the age of 15, playing in three FA Youth Cup campaigns, and was a key member of the youth team as they lifted the EFL Youth Alliance League north west title last season.

Wade said: “I am delighted. I have been here three years now, so all the hard work I have put in in the academy and in my scholarship over the two years has all paid off.

“I feel like I have really improved over the seasons I have been here. We [the youth team] have had a great year this year winning the league.

“I know the standards that are expected, so I know where I have got to be and what I need to do, and I have been working hard over the off-season to make sure I am ready to go come pre-season.”
