Sailing: A bracing day's racing at Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club

Date published: 15 March 2018

Nick Brook in a Solo won the first and second races in the cold easterly wind at Hollingworth Lake Sailing Club on Sunday.

He had only beaten Evan Parry in a Laser by one second on handicap.

Parry sailed consistently in second place in all three races.

His father, Julian Parry, was setting the pace in a RS300 on the water but not fast enough to beat the youngsters.

Young Jacob Din, in a Topper, had a couple of third places, ahead of another young sailor in Jasper Bramwell, also in a Topper

Richard Marsh enjoyed two races with his daughter, Lauren, in a RS200, at times planning across the Lake in a gust, but not far enough ahead on handicap until his wife, Heather, took the crew spot in the last race to help him to a clear win.
