Hockey: Rochdale Mens Seconds 6 - 1 Golborne Seconds

Date published: 02 October 2017

Rochdale came away from Golborne with the win they needed to kick start their season after  last week's opening game disappointment.

The first half was a scrappy affair with the umpires having to speak to both captains.

Rochdale gained the upper hand with early goals from Graham Broadley and Aaron Hunter.

Golborne pulled a goal back prior to half time.

The second half saw Rochdale dominate.

Hunter was on the score sheet again and Broadley completed his hat-trick. Dean Close opened his account.

The win moves Rochdale up to mid table.

Karl Wynn, captain, said: “Today felt like like had excised the demon of last week and was the true start to our season.

"We are still key players missing, but those who have stepped up to the plate and dug deep deserve a huge thank you, particularly this week Sean Carney, without whom this victory may never have happened.”

The Atticus man-of-the-match went Aaron Hunter.
