Draw at Blackpool given players "encouragement and belief", says Keith Hill as Dale prepare to take on Wimbledon

Date published: 29 September 2017

Rochdale take on AFC Wimbledon in a League One game on Saturday looking to continue to climb the table after an indifferent start to the season.

With a draw and a win from the last two league games, Dale have risen to 17th in the table.

Dale manager Keith Hill says the draw at high-flying Blackpool midweek has given the players "encouragement and belief".

He added: "The courage to perform away from home has been missing somewhat, but it was evident for 90 minutes on Tuesday.

"It is not about how talented we are as a group, it is about how honest we are and how hard we are prepared to work - that is what has got us our successes.

"The first skillset that anyone should have is effort and we saw a lot of effort and endeavour the other night.

"That is what we build our success on, and if we continue to do that for the rest of the season we will be very successful.”

Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley is asking his team to pick up a "valuable three points" against Rochdale.

Having won only two of their ten games this season, and lost the last two, Wimbledon sit 20th, three places below Dale in the table.

Supporters can pay on the day at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
