The Mayor has cancer

Mayor Keith Swift

The Mayor of Rochdale has announced that he has prostate cancer.
Councillor Keith Swift said: “I am receiving treatment for prostate cancer as a day care patient at the Christie Hospital.
"Thankfully the cancer is still at an early stage when it is most treatable.
"This diagnosis is a challenge that I am determined to face and overcome."
