Snow cleared from Spotland pitch

Rochdale football club has paid tribute to a hardy band of supporters who have worked over the weekend and last night (Monday 11 January) to clear snow from the Spotland playing surface.
Groundsman Phil Collinson is optimistic that this Saturday's game against Port Vale will now go ahead, with no further snow and reasonable temperatures forecast for the rest of the week.
Collinson said: "Underneath the covers the pitch is in good condition and if we had a game due now we could have played."
Rochdale's game away at Aldershot, which was due to be played on Saturday, will now be played next Tuesday night (19 January), kick off 7.45pm.
