Rochdale youth services shortlisted for national youth work award

Date published: 02 September 2015

Rochdale Youth Service and Rochdale Youth Service Disability Group have been shortlisted for 'The Youth Work Award' at the 2015 Children & Young People Now Awards.

The awards and they bring national recognition for projects and services that make a difference to children, young people and families right across the country.

A 16-strong panel of expert judges scrutinised and studied almost 600 entries to produce shortlists in each category. A panel of young judges is examining these entries and their marks will count towards determining the overall winners.

Jayne Taylor, Senior Youth Officer at Rochdale Youth Service, said: “The Children & Young People Now Awards present a tremendous showcase of learning and best practice in youth work from across the country. They are considered a gold standard for professionals who work with young people and families and we are really pleased to have come this far. The awards are judged by young people as well as adults and we have all got our fingers crossed that we come out as winners.”

The winners will be revealed at a gala ceremony on the evening of Thursday 26 November inside the Georgian clubhouse at the Hurlingham Club on the banks of the River Thames in London.
