Open Spaces Society delighted that wind turbines rejected on Rooley Moor, Rochdale
The Open Spaces Society, Britain’s oldest national conservation body, is delighted that Rochdale Borough Council has refused planning permission to Coronation Power for 12 wind turbines and other infrastructure on Rooley Moor.
Kate Ashbrook, general secretary of the Open Spaces Society, said: "This is an excellent result.
"The development was proposed on common land where walkers and horse-riders have rights of free access and can enjoy the expansive views.
"The turbines would have been a severe blot on the landscape. It is a relief that the council has rejected them."
