Thief brandishing a machete threatens staff and steals cash from Tesco Express in Norden

A thief brandishing a machete threatened staff at Tesco Express in Norden, before stealing cash and running off.

The thief walked into the store on Edenfield Road on Thursday (26 June) at around 10.25pm.

Once he entered the store, he approached a staff member on duty and threatened them with the machete and demanded cash.

He then made off in the direction of Martin Lane.

He is described as 6ft tall and of slim build. At the time, he was wearing yellow trousers and a yellow marigold glove on his left hand.

Police confirmed that an investigation is currently underway.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
