Teen stabbed at Parklife

Date published: 25 June 2015

A teenager was stabbed as he enjoyed a music festival in Manchester.

At around 7.45pm on Sunday 7 June 2015, the 17-year-old victim was stood with his girlfriend and friends outside the Drop The Mustard tent at Parklife, Heaton Park when he was kicked from behind.

He turned round and asked the offender why he had done it but said he did not want any trouble. The man then dragged him to the floor and stabbed him in his torso before running off.

He is described as being white, in his early 20s, of slim build, had long mousey coloured brown hair that was just below his ears, brown or hazel eyes and wore a dark coloured coat. He was believed to be with two other men.

Detective Constable Rick Pack said: “This was a completely unprovoked and violent attack on someone who was, up until that point, having a good time with his girlfriend and friends.

“The victim was stabbed between the rib cage and stomach and is lucky not to have suffered more of a serious injury.

“We believe after the stabbing, the offender returned when the victim was being treated by paramedics. Thanks to witnesses, we now have an efit and I would ask anyone who may recognise the description or image, to contact police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 3228 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
