Help needed to produce new marketing strategy for the town

Date published: 17 April 2015

Rochdale Town Centre Management Company (TCM), in conjunction with The University of Manchester Business School, is aiming to produce a marketing strategy for the town and wants the help of people who live and work here.

Formed over 20 years ago, TCM is supported by town centre businesses, the council, and other partners. One of its primary functions is to work as a catalyst between all partners and help improve the viability and vitality of Rochdale Town Centre.

The online survey is open to residents, businesses and people who work in the town, to share their views.

The results of the survey will help shape a new marketing strategy proposal for the town, to be unveiled in June 2015, with the aim of encouraging more confidence, more visitors and help bring businesses, of all kinds, to Rochdale Town Centre.

It takes about 10 minutes to complete and asks questions like why people visit the town and what needs to be done to encourage more visitors.

Mark Foxley, of Rochdale Town Centre Management, said: “It is vital that we understand exactly how people feel about Rochdale – how they view the town, and what they do when they come. Our ongoing marketing and promotional activity needs to reflect the ambitions of the people and businesses of Rochdale. And as local people will have the best grasp of the town and what needs to be done, we are keen to make sure their opinions are heard and included in our planning.

“The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and will be hugely important, so we are appealing for as many people as possible to take part and have their say on the future of the town.”

Their contributions will focus on town centre marketing and events, addressing any infrastructure issues and ensuring Rochdale is safe, clean and welcoming.

The survey is live for the next ten days at:
