Five men have appeared in court charged with serious sex offences in Rochdale

Five men appeared in court yesterday (Tuesday 3 March) over alleged child sexual exploitation in Rochdale.

The men, aged between 26 and 37, who are accused of serious sex offences against females aged between 13 and 23, appeared at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates' Court.

No pleas were entered during the short hearing and the defendants were granted bail.

The men are:

  • Kutab Miah, 34, of Ramsay Street, Rochdale, charged with three counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of rape
  • Ikhalaq Choudhry Hussain, 37, of Mayfield Terrace, Rochdale, charged with three counts of sexual activity with a child and two counts of rape
  • Rehan Ali, 26, of Cleethorpes Avenue, Blackley, Manchester, charged with one count of rape and six counts of sexual activity with a child
  • Shayfur Rahman, 31, of Chapel Road, Prestwich, Greater Manchester, charged with one count of rape
  • Mohammed Davood, 37, of Leyland Road, Burnley, Lancashire, charged with one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of rape, one count of sexual activity with a child and one count of sexual assault

They are due to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester on 16 March.

Two other men have previously appeared before the court in connection with the same inquiry.

Three others are due to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court today.
