‘Team Radiant’ raise £500 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 22 October 2014

Jon Edmondson, Garth Edwards, Simon Barker, Ged Maguire and Simon Entwistle – known as Team Radiant - have completed Tough Mudder North West and raised £500 for Springhill Hospice.

The Tough Mudder North West adventure race saw the team face 12 miles of mud, underwater tunnels, ice cold immersion and other outrageous obstacles to raise the money for the Hospice.

The group are not new to fundraising and have previously completed bungee jumps, skydives, long distance bike rides and fell races to continue their fundraising efforts.

Jon Edmondson, whose mother Lynne died in 2010 at Springhill Hospice, said: “We are all massively aware of the effect that cancer can have on everyone’s lives and thanks to the wonderful care that was given to my mum at Springhill over her last few days.

“We have made it our goal to raise as much money as we possibly can for a very worthwhile cause.

"I can never thank the staff enough for the compassion and care given to my mum and our family during a very difficult and sad time.”

Team Radiant are now planning a training weekend on Snowdon in November before the Lynne Edmondson Memorial Fell Race in Whitworth in December and another adventure in early 2015.
