Highfield Hospital’s Macmillan Coffee Morning raises over £300
Staff at Highfield Hospital in Rochdale have raised over £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support during the world’s biggest coffee morning.
The cancer charity’s biggest fund raising event raises money to support people living with cancer, to help make sure no one has to face the disease alone, from the moment they are diagnosed, through to treatment and after diagnosis care.
Staff from the hospital, including chefs from the restaurant, baked a selection of delicious cakes and biscuits, from muffins to cookies, and enjoyed tea, coffee and a chat with their colleagues during their morning break.
Paul McGaughey, Executive Director at Highfield Hospital, said: “Most of us have been affected by cancer, whether it be directly or indirectly, so it is important to the hospital that we do all we can to support those living with the disease.
He added: “Here at BMI The Highfield Hospital we are really pleased to be able to support Macmillan in their fight against cancer. I want to say a big thank you to the team for the effort they went to baking the cakes.”
