Annie Cooper all set for spending spree

Date published: 03 October 2014

Supported housing resident Annie Cooper has won £100 in shopping vouchers from RBH after taking part in a special project to improve her neighbourhood.

The mutual housing society recently interviewed a number of tenants in Moorclose, Baytree and Junction to help identify future priorities for the community.

All those who were interviewed were entered into a prize draw and Annie, 81, of Lonsdale Court, Sedgley Street, Middleton, was the lucky winner.

RBH will use the feedback from the interviews when it rolls out its ground-breaking Our Place project in the area which will see it work with residents to develop a community action plan.

Stephen Edwards, RBH Community Engagement Officer, said: “We are very grateful to Annie and everyone else who took part in the interviews.

“The people who live in a neighbourhood are best placed to identify ways of improving it and, as a mutual society, we are committed to working with residents to build stronger communities.

“Once we have analysed all the feedback we received we will be inviting residents to come together with us to develop an action plan.

“In the meantime we hope Annie will enjoy spending her vouchers!”

Annie said: “I’m very pleased to have won the vouchers and was also glad to take part in the interview.

“This is a very nice area and hopefully the information from the interviews will make it even better.”
