Wood Street closed due to overturned lorry

Wood Street remains closed this morning (Monday 28 July) after a lorry overturned and spilled its load.
The incident happened shortly after 6.30am. Police were called to the scene where the lorry had flipped over on to its side.
No other vehicles were said to be involved in the incident, which happened outside of Crown House Veterinary Surgery.
At the time, the vehicle was carrying a shipment of Rapeseed Oil which spilled out onto the street.
Council workers have been called to the scene to clear up the spillage. The street currently remains closed whilst the incident is dealt with.
UPDATE: Police have said the road will be closed for 24 hours for the road to be resurfaced.
The police have also confirmed that the lorry was going too fast for the bend in the road causing the lorry to overturn.
