Kingsway family fun day

Date published: 21 June 2014

Kingsway Sports Centre held a family fun day today (Saturday 21 June) to show off their facilities as well as helping promote fitness to members of the community.

Andy Entwistle from the sports centre said: “We wanted to show our facilities and our new facilities off and show people what we have. It is also a good way of promoting fitness to people and to encourage people to stay active.”

The day included football activities, fitness taster sessions, buggy fitness, tennis and badminton and activities for under 5s.

“People have said that they have really enjoyed the things we have going on. We are pleased with the response we have had from people here,” said Andy.

This is the first event held in the new facilities.

Andy added: “Similar things have been done before but this is the first since the schools merged and we got some new facilities. We have things planned for the summer like summer clubs and summer activities.

“Obviously there is the Big Games event coming up and this is not to the scale of that but hopefully we can do something like this again in the future.”
