The Hairdressing Room and Beauty Lounge raise £550 for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 22 April 2014

The Hairdressing Room and Beauty Lounge, a new hair and beauty salon open in Rochdale, has raised £550 for Springhill Hospice during an open day and charity event.

The event included a number of different activities to officially open the salon and to raise money for a worthwhile charity.

Hayley Staniland, owner of the salon, said: “It went really well. It was a really good night.”

The event included cakes donated by Brown’s Cakes, a fashion show held by The Clothing End, a raffle and beauty demonstrations.

“The Clothing End donated 10% of their takings from the night to the charity and we sold about 100 tickets for the raffle for a prize draw at £5 each so it all went to the charity,” added Hayley.

Springhill Hospice was the charity of choice for the event. “I think they are a charity that is close to everyone’s heart and is a place that everyone has a connection with one way or another,” said Hayley.

Around 80 people attended the event held at the salon. Hayley added: “We’re really pleased with what we raised. It was a nice way to open the salon and raise some money for a good cause.”

The Hairdressing Room and Beauty Lounge, which is located on St Mary’s Gate, Rochdale, is a hair and beauty salon that provides a range of hairdressing and beauty services.
