Littleborough Easter Egg hunt raises funds for Springhill Hospice

Date published: 19 April 2014

The Littleborough Easter Egg hunt, organised by friends Emily Tattersall, Helen Robinson and Heather Barnes, saw young people and families searching Hollingworth Lake for hidden Easter treats and raising funds for Springhill Hospice.

Emily Tattersall said: “We wanted to hold a charity event to raise money for the Hospice and thought that it would be good to do something for Easter.”

The hunt saw those taking part start at Hollingworth Lake Visitors Centre where they received their first clue. They then made their way around the Lake following a number of other clues before finishing at The Sailing Club for tea, cakes and a raffle.

“We have all been affected by cancer and we know that the Hospice does amazing work. With it being a local charity as well we thought they would be a good charity to raise money for,” added Helen Robinson.

The hunt took a number of months to organise. Heather Barnes added: “We came up with the idea in February and have been working on it since then. We have had a lot of support from people as well. We had a box in the Co-op shop asking for egg donations and we got a lot of eggs so that was fantastic.”

Heather added: “We are really pleased with the response. It has been great.”
