Air Corps squadron member bag packing in Tesco Rochdale
The 1263 Rochdale Squadron of the Air Training Corps held a bag packing event at Tesco and ten members of the squadron including staff, cadets and members of the Civilian Committee raised £685.24.
The money will now be used to help fund a presentation evening and to buy some adventure training equipment.
Adult Sergeant Leanne Casey said: “We are absolutely pleased with the total we raised. Anything we can get at these types of event will always help.”
Bag packing events are held every few months by the squadron with Leanne saying that the squadron find them a good way of fund-raising.
“They are good fund-raising events because not only does it raise money but it also helps attract people who want to get involved. Teenagers will often come over and have a chat about what we do so that is always good,” added Leanne.
The presentation evening planned for the cadets will honour them with awards for their hard work and dedication over the past twelve months. The squadron is hoping to hold the event in May but a final date has not yet been confirmed.
