St Aidan’s Spring Fair

Date published: 12 April 2014

St Aidan’s Church in Sudden held their annual spring fair today (Saturday 12 April) to raise money for the church.

The fair included a variety of stalls such as books, toys, plants, white elephant and a chocolate tombola.

Tracey Street, who organised the fair, said: “We hold the fair every year and do a variety of things. We have children’s games as well as the stalls. We are also selling specially made pie and peas for those who want it.”

Other refreshments were available at the fair including home made cakes and, for the first time, a popcorn stand, which certainly kept the children happy.

Money raised from the event will be used to help repair the church organ.

Tracey added: “There are a few repairs that need doing to the organ so hopefully the money can be used for that.”

Organisers are hoping to have raised £800 from the event. “We would be happy with £800 and I think that is a good amount but we haven’t really set a total,” said Tracey.

The fair started at 11.00am and saw a steady stream of people through the door. Tracey said: “It has been a good day. There has been a steady flow of people coming through the door and it is usually a successful fair each year.”
