HMR Star Awards launched

Date published: 01 April 2014

THE HMR Star (Special Thanks and Recognition) Awards have been launched to mark the first anniversary of NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG).

They aim to celebrate and recognise CCG staff, GPs and GP practice staff for the excellent work they do to help HMR CCG deliver its objectives and achieve its vision of healthier people, better future for the people of the borough.

There are five award categories, with one – People’s Star – open to local people and patients to nominate GPs, practice managers, practice nurses or GP receptionists who you feel deserve special thanks and recognition.

The People’s Star award is for a person or team considered by patients and the public to have provided high quality, compassionate and individual patient care.

Dr Chris Duffy, Chairman of NHS HMR CCG, said: “We believe we have a very talented CCG team and that there is exceptional primary care provided by individuals and teams in practices across the borough. That’s why we decided to celebrate HMR CCG’s first anniversary by launching a scheme to recognise the passion, commitment and hard work we see on a daily basis.

“So, if you’ve been impressed with the care you’ve received or the way you’ve been treated by your GP or someone at your GP practice, this is your chance to say thank you by nominating them for the People’s Star award.”

Local people are being invited to nominate their GP, practice manager, practice nurse or receptionist for an award.

How to nominate:

To help with shortlisting and the final selection of winners, you should give as much detail as possible about the person or team you are nominating within the word limit. This could be about their achievements; approach to colleagues, patients, work, change or challenges; reasons why they are a great example for others and employees of which the NHS can be proud; or what they've done to provide excellent customer service.

Be clear about why you think the person or team you are nominating is an HMR Star.

Tell us why, in up to 200 words, you feel they deserve an award.
