New picnic tables at Springfield Park

The picnic tables, with unimpeded views over the mere and across the park
New picnic tables have been sited in Springfield Park in a specially prepared spacious area with unimpeded views over the mere and across the park.
The site is located approximately 150 metres in from the vehicle entrance, then follow the path over to the right, and arriving close to the medieval mere.
The project was sponsored by Biffa Awards, who help to build communities and transform lives.
A spokesman for Friends of Springfield Park said: "We are very pleased and proud to say that the tables are installed and already being extensively used and enjoyed by the park users."
