Rochdale appointments made to Transport for Greater Manchester Committee

The leading members of Greater Manchester’s transport committee were appointed at the authority’s Annual General Meeting on Friday.

The Transport for Greater Manchester Committee is a joint committee of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority and advises the Combined Authority on transport policy.

Members of the TfGM Committee oversee public transport, the management and maintenance of traffic signals and, alongside districts and the Highways Agency, the management of road network strategy and promoting road safety.

A total of 33 members were appointed to the committee, representing the ten district authorities in Greater Manchester. 

Rochdale’s TfGM Committee members were also formally appointed:

  • Councillor Surinder Biant
  • Councillor Ian Duckworth
  • Councillor Alan Godson
