Date published: 06 May 2022

Thousands of Rochdale residents performed Eid prayers at Springfield Park on Monday 2 May.

Over 4,000 residents gathered at the park for prayers organised by the Central Mosque of Rochdale to mark the occasion.

Chair of Central Mosque Hafiz Malik and his team of volunteers organised this event to mark Eid ul-Fitr, a celebration that takes place at the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

Mayor of Rochdale Councillor Aasim Rashid also attended the prayers at Springfield Park, and sent a message of Eid greetings to all.
