Motorcyclist receives serious injuries after colliding with a wall

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a wall on Smithy Bridge Road, Smithy Bridge, on Monday afternoon (12 April).

The rider, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with major trauma, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed.

The road was closed for a few hours while emergency services attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police added: “No one else is believed to have been injured in the incident.”
