Spiderman drops in to open Greenbank Primary School's new outdoor learning area

Date published: 04 January 2019

Greenbank Primary School’s favourite superhero Spiderman took a break from fighting crime to drop in and open the Early Years Unit’s brand-new outdoor learning area on Wednesday (2 January).

Spiderman leapt into the new area designed by Oliver from Cool Canvas and the school’s very own Forest School teacher, Mrs Murray before cutting the ribbon.

Enthusiastic children then had loads of fun building a huge den with Spiderman and digging in the sandpit before making him lots of pancakes and cake in the new texture kitchen.

Early Years Leader, Linzi Williams said: “As the children are learning about superheroes this term then, who better to ask than their favourite Spiderman.

“It really is an exciting time for us at Greenbank with our brand-new outdoor classroom and new outdoor wilderness area for all key stages and now our amazing Early Years outdoor learning area. “Our children really are going to benefit from these areas and we can't wait to see all the amazing learning they are going to achieve.

“We are really lucky that our head teacher, Mrs Hartley, has a real passion for outdoor learning and understands the importance for children's education, growth and mind set.

“It definitely is 'happy days in our magical place' at Greenbank.”
