Heywood veterans and supporters thank local schoolchildren
Heywood veterans have thanked local schoolchildren for their poignant centenary decorations at the Memorial Gardens.
Veterans and supporters paid a visit to Harwood Park School to say a big thank you to the pupils for decorating the railing in front of the gardens with a link of homemade poppies.
To show the pupils’ respect for the two world war anniversaries, each poppy featured a verse.
In return, the head mistress presented a cheque to the veterans for their valuable contribution to the town.
