Santa needs presents for Royal Oldham Children’s Unit

Date published: 16 October 2018

Can you help Santa fill his sack with presents for the Royal Oldham Children’s Unit?

Santa will be paying children on the ward a special visit ahead of Christmas on 23 December, to help make the festive season as magical as can be.

For the young patients unable to go home during the holidays, the ward will be beautifully decorated and visited by several mascots and a magician.

Staff at the Royal Oldham Children’s Unit have currently raised £135 through Just Giving towards the efforts.

Staff member Amanda Roberts said: “We are fundraising to provide a magical stay on the unit for children who have to stay in hospital at Christmas and their families.

“We have received many kind offers of entertainment, all for free. We have also received an offer of a Christmas tree and some decorations.

“We are still looking for donations of sweets, treats and small presents for the children.

“We have Santa visiting but he currently has no presents in his sack.”

Sweets, treats and small presents can be dropped off at the unit, or collection arranged.
