Footage has been captured of a group of off-road bikers harassing a lorry driver in Milnrow.

An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, caught footage of the incident on a dash camera whilst stuck in traffic on Wildhouse Lane on 13 September.

The witness said: “The group were very intimidating, weaving in and out of traffic. They sped right up to the lorry and tried to get in, so he drove forward.

“The driver got stuck at the Gallows pub junction and had his windows smashed with bricks. A couple glanced off him. I also sent the footage to the lorry firm and went down to keep him company at 8pm as the police still hadn’t arrived.

“At 9.30pm, the police said they wouldn’t be able to attend that night, so the driver made his way back to Shrewsbury.”

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 5.30pm on Thursday 13 September, a lorry driver reported to police he was assaulted by a group riding off-road bikes near Elizabethan Way.

“The offenders shouted profanities, before driving erratically, and threw rocks at the lorry which damaged the vehicle and hit the driver.”
