By order of the Peaky Blinders: BBC Two drama film scenes at Rochdale Town Hall

Rochdale Town Hall is set to feature in an upcoming series of the popular BBC Two show, Peaky Blinders after filming on Thursday (20 April).

Late on Wednesday evening, residents reporting seeing the car park closed off.

On Thursday filming was taking place in the left wing of the building near the clock tower.

Later on in the day, Rochdale Borough Council, posted: “Rochdale Town Hall providing perfect backdrop for filming of popular BBC Two drama Peaky Blinders today.”

Star of the show, Cillian Murphy who plays Tommy Shelby, the leader of the Peaky Blinders gang, was spotted wandering the set. Paul Anderson, who plays his brother Arthur on the show, is also understood to have been sighted between scenes.

The award-winning crime drama is set in Birmingham during the 1920s, and is centred around the Shelby family.

The BBC has been contacted for comment.
