Date published: 25 February 2017

Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) where issued for a number of offences when the Rochdale neighbourhood police team, alongside GMP traffic patrols, conducted a traffic operation in the Milkstone and Deeplish area on Friday 17 February.

Targeting poor, inconsiderate and complacent driving in an attempt to reduce offences and make the roads safer.

This was in response to a number of complaints from the local community and residents reporting motorists committing traffic offences.

The (TORs) offered the opportunity for motorists to accept the option of attending driving improvement/education courses.

During the operation, a number of drivers were stopped and dealt with for a variety of offences:

  • 12 TORs were issued.
  • One vehicle was stopped for tinted windows and the tints were removed.
  • One vehicle was seized.

PS Shirazi Neighbourhood Sergeant Town Centre, Milkstone and Deeplish, he said: “I’m pleased with the number of motorists who have been stopped for offences – and hope they will now modify their behaviour and realise the dangers they put themselves and others in. I would ask drivers to be patient and respectful of others, modify driving behaviours and give the road their full attention.”
