Household furniture fly-tipped on Clegg Hall Road branded ‘disgusting’
Date published: 12 January 2017
Several items of household furniture fly-tipped on Clegg Hall Road in Littleborough have been branded as ‘disgusting’ and ‘spoiling nice places’.
A mattress, a chair, large cushions and what looks like a cot frame have all been dumped on the road between the bridge and Branch Road. The rubbish has been present since Sunday 8 January.
Cathy Rudderforth wrote: “[This is] pretty unsightly and irresponsible.”
Sue Pilkington said the rubbish was "spoiling a nice place" whilst Alison Love and Barbara Kenyon said the mess is "disgusting".
John Conway wrote online: “It's not laziness, it's a deliberate act which makes them lots of money. It starts with people hiring people on the cheap. If you want to do it right, make sure they have a waste carriers licence and get a disposal ticket.”
Phil Clegg commented: “Is this [the result of] another ‘I'll move your rubbish’ [claim]? Be responsible when you hire someone to move your garbage. Ask to see their permit as a waste remover. If they don't have one, don't let them take it.”
Rochdale Borough Council has been contacted for comment.
