Danczuk advertises for a new 'communications officer'

Date published: 19 October 2016

Rochdale MP Simon Danczuk is advertising for a new communications officer.

The job is advertised as a Labour MP's appointment despite Mr Danczuk currently being suspended by the Labour Party for sending sex messages to a 17-year-old girl.

The successful applicant will work in the MP's constituency office in Rochdale town centre, where it was recently revealed he had sex over a desk with a 22-year-old woman.

Mr Danczuk's staffing arrangements have long been controversial. Employing his then wife Karen Danczuk after being elected. Re-employing her part-time earlier this year after her employment in his office had ceased when they split up in 2015:

He also gave a job to his ex-wife's 'best friend':

He was criticised at Christmas for claiming £500 from the taxpayer for retaining a 'crisis management' consultant at a time when his behaviour was splashed in the tabloids.

Two members of Mr Danczuk's constituency office staff have recently left, Joel Jackson and Elsie Wraighte, who has been appointed the new Personal Assistant to Mr Danczuk's close friend, Councillor Richard Farnell, the Leader of Rochdale Borough Council.
